Duck's Theory. Week of April 9th-15th. D2

When thinking about a romantic relationship with someone, everyone uses filters to eliminate people, or to find the right one. Duck’s theory does make a lot of sense to me. When reading about each of the four filters, I would admit that I have used them all. They all made sense and it made me think back about my current relationship and how I came to terms with that and how I eliminated other people as well. I have eliminated someone using the sociological filter and then reconsidered them based on interaction and cognitive cues. I think that Duck’s theory works for a lot of people because everyone has filters when thinking about relationships and they create a model type person that they are looking for. If a person doesn’t fit that model then their filters come out and it just doesn’t work at times. People’s filters can range from many different things. It can be something little to something extreme. Sociological or incidental cues have manly to do with where someone lives and their jobs. For me where someone lives can be a big filter since long distance relationships can be hard. A persons job isn’t that big of an issue for me.  Preinteraction, interaction and cognitive cues are also important filters.
