One concept that I think could use some further discussion
from the semester would be, organizational communication. I believe that
everyone will at least have one job throughout their lifetime where they will
have to deal with a large group of people and work together to get it done
efficiently. Within organizational communication is interviewing skills. I
think that it is necessary for people to learn how to prepare and succeed in an
interview. People should know how to properly answer interview questions, form
resumes and be professional. In order to succeed in life, many people will have
to get a job in the first place and in order to get a job they will need to
have strong interview skills. Organizational communication is an important
concept and it deals with a group setting of people at times. Everyone should
learn the proper skills to excel in organizational communication. Once someone
has those skills and concepts down, who know what can then stop them.

interesting concept week of may 6th-13th D2
I found multiple concepts in this class to be interesting.
The concept that was probably the most interesting to me would be the nonverbal
communication. It was nice to learn more about it, and different cues that
people give off. There was a lot of information that I learned from this
concept. Its also interesting to know that at times, people can be unaware of
their nonverbal gestures and cues that other people may read from them
communicating. There are multiple nonverbal codes that include, body movement, facial expressions,
vocal characteristics, time, space, physical appearance and more. Nonverbal is
a key concept when communicating with others in a face to face atmosphere and
people should be aware of the things that they do while communicating. Also to
know that some nonverbal codes can be different in other cultures was interesting
to learn more about. To know that smiling in one culture can mean on thing like
happiness and friendliness while it in another it can be seen as rude or
offensive. Nonverbal messages can be tricky at times, and people should be
careful with some things that they do while communicating with others.

Reseach Methods. Week of May 7th-13th D1
I think that all of the research methods are interesting. The
one that suck out the most to me was the performance research. Performance research
is when the researcher focuses on analyzing the aesthetic and/or social meaning
of performances. This form would be fun
to try since at times the researches either actually performance them themselves
or observes them to get the undercover meanings of texts. When researches
re-create a text, they discover and are able to share first hand their findings
and understanding of things as well. If I wanted to form a research question of
deception, the type of method I would use would be a survey research. I would
first make sure that it was anonymous so that people would answer the question
and feel comfortable answering it truthfully. The question I might ask would
be, “How does deception affect people’s credibility when talking to others in a
face to face setting?”
